Smelt Bay eye candy

On our recent visit to Cortes Island we took a walk at Smelt Bay and saw this amazing red seaweed. I believe it is called "Red Spaghetti" and is used in making agar agar.

Old stumps are often photogenic but this one really grabbed my eye. The colours and shapes are exquisite to me -- so vibrant and interesting.

This corner of the beach is always lovely and the red line of seaweed only enhances it.
